We are seeking a skilled Scala Developer to design and develop high-performance, scalable data processing applications for a banking sector client. If you're passionate about building data-intensive systems and solving complex challenges with Big Data technologies, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable data processing applications using Scala.
  • Build and optimize ETL pipelines for large datasets.
  • Work with Apache Spark, Kafka, and Flink for batch and streaming data.
  • Maintain data lakes and warehouses (Databricks Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi).
  • Implement real-time streaming solutions and event-driven architectures.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years in software development with Scala.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (batch & streaming).
  • Expertise in data lake/warehouse technologies and open-source data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro).
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and streaming frameworks (Kafka, Flink).

Preferred:

  • Experience in the technology function of a global investment bank.
  • Experience migrating data applications from Hadoop to AWS Databricks.
