Description
Supervision & Development - Manage and mentor a Trainee Financial Accountant, providing guidance and support in their professional growth.
Process Improvement - Collaborate with the Financial Controller to standardise policies, enhance processes, and drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
Month-End & Reporting - Ensure a timely and accurate month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounts, management accounts, and bi-monthly lender reporting, working closely with the F&PA team.
Balance Sheet Management - Oversee journal approvals, postings, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Tax & Compliance - Prepare quarterly Corporation Tax and VAT calculations for submission, presenting findings to the Financial Controller and Finance Director for approval.
Lender Reporting - Compile and reconcile bi-monthly lender reporting packs, ensuring adherence to lender covenants before Finance Director sign-off.
Reconciliation & Accuracy - Assist in refining payment and collection reconciliation processes, ensuring customer agreements accurately reflect their true balances.
Audit & Statutory Accounts - Support the Financial Controller during the external audit process and assist in preparing statutory accounts for group entities.
Profile
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- A degree in Accounting or related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A strong understanding of business principles and practices.
Job Offer
- An estimated salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 GBP per annum.
