Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an Ofsted-rated "Good" Northwich-based High School as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced SEN TA to support the KS3 resource base as the current staff member is going on long-term sick. This is a long-term full-time contract consisting of 8:30am - 3:30pm.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils with a variety of SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work alongside the class teacher and teaching assistants to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment by utilising an array of learning equipment and taking a pupil-centred approach to education. You will liaise with the class teacher to ensure that all sessions (interventions, boosters, echt) are not only in line with your pupils' needs but also meet the requirements of their EHCPs. As you will be supporting SEN you will ensure that you adapt your approach to best suit the pupils' individual needs and emotional states. Other duties will include positive behaviour promotion, utilisation of sensory room, speech and language development and behaviour management.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people with complex needs within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience supporting children aged between 11 - 16
  • Experience managing behaviours
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
