Your new companyHays Recruitment is working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated "Outstanding" SEN school in Winsford as they are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil within the Year 2 class on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time long-term position (8:45am - 3:45pm) position supporting a dual diagnosis of ASD and behavioural needs.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a pupil within the Year 2 class on a 1:1 basis as they have a dual diagnosis of ASD and behavioural needs. You will be this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate, taking them back to their grown-up at the end of the day and supporting them during break/lunch times. As you will be supporting ASD you will be required to gradually incorporate yourself and new requirements needed for the pupils EHCP gradually as to not trigger. Other duties will include speech and language, interventions and boosters, personal care requirements, and behaviour management.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting complex needs, as well as:

  • Experience supporting children/young people with complex and profound needs is preferred, but adult experience will still be considered
  • Experience supporting ASD and managing trigger/escalation points
  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
