Logistics/Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Cheshire

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (DOE) + Benefits and Bonus

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics/Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various logistical and supply chain tasks to ensure smooth operations. This includes answering calls, liaising with suppliers, arranging collections, and coordinating with haulage companies for business-to-business deliveries. If you are detail-oriented, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

    • Handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally and efficiently.
    • Provide information, answer queries, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
    • Negotiate terms and manage contracts with suppliers to optimize costs and delivery schedules.
    • Coordinate and schedule collections of goods from suppliers.
    • Monitor and track collections to ensure they are completed on time.
    • Work closely with haulage companies to arrange the transportation of goods for business-to-business deliveries.
    • Schedule and coordinate drop-offs, ensuring all delivery requirements are met.
    • Monitor the status of deliveries and address any issues or delays promptly.
    • Source, negotiate, and procure goods and services from reliable suppliers.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with company quality standards and cost requirements.
    • Prepare purchase orders, review contracts, and maintain accurate purchasing records.
    • Monitor inventory levels to anticipate and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.

Renumeration:

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

Holidays: 25 days, plus your birthday and bank holidays

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 08:30 - 17:00
