Job Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant Design and Technology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE exams, and encouraging an understanding of the importance of food, nutrition, and healthy living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology, incorporating both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Prepare students for assessments and GCSEs in line with the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging schemes of work and resources.
  • Maintain a safe and organised classroom, ensuring health and safety standards are met during practical lessons.
  • Participate in wider school activities, including after-school clubs and school events.
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level, including experience with the GCSE syllabus.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and nutritional principles.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for food education and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to teaching.
