Reed Finance Norwich are delighted to be working for a Global, Norwich based client to recruit for a Financial Controller to join their team. As a key member of the management team, the Financial Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the business. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, this position is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring cost control, and driving profitability while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

Financial Planning and Reporting

  • Develop and oversee budgets and financial forecasts, conducting variance analysis to compare actual performance with budgeted figures.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate audits (internal and external) and implement audit recommendations.

Operational Support

  • Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and collaborate with managers to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of supply chain decisions and work with the procurement team to negotiate better terms with suppliers.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or production capabilities, implementing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Manage inventory control, ensuring accurate accounting and optimizing inventory levels to reduce carrying costs.
  • Assess the financial viability of capital projects, conducting cost-benefit analyses and projecting ROI to advise management on investment decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment 
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
