This is an exciting new position, created as part of the firm's continued growth, which is set to carry on for the foreseeable future. As a Senior Accountant, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of clients (or working towards this dependant on experience and qualification), with a particular focus on certain client industries. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services, while also providing valuable insights and advice to help clients make informed business decisions. The firm is known for its proactive, client-first approach, and you'll have the chance to build long-term relationships with a variety of business owners and decision-makers, whilst progressing your own career at a pace that suits you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of year-end accounts, personal and business tax computations, ensuring all work meets regulatory and internal standards
- Act as the main point of contact for your portfolio of clients, delivering exceptional service while building strong, trusted relationships.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, supporting their development and conducting reviews of their work.
- Develop tax and business advisory skills to offer clients tailored solutions and identify new service opportunities.
- Proactively manage workload and client expectations, ensuring all deadlines and budgets are consistently met.
- Identify opportunities to support clients with upcoming regulatory changes and advise on potential business impacts.
- Get involved in business development, attending networking events and seeking out opportunities to grow the firm's client base.
What the client is looking for:
- Ideally ACA/ACCA qualified (or there about's) or QBE.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero and QuickBooks. Cloud certifications would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice, with a good knowledge of farms and rural businesses.
- Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and build effective working relationships.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the confidence to advise clients on a variety of financial matters.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering a high-quality, client-centric service.
