Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper

Location: NR6

Hours: Part-time - 2 days per week (flexible schedule)

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, family-run business in a flexible, in-house accounting role. Working closely with the Director, you'll play a key role in managing day-to-day finance operations and ensuring everything is prepared and accurate for external accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director with the preparation of financial records for submission to external accountants
  • Maintain and manage incoming and outgoing stock using Sage
  • Handle all bookkeeping tasks, including double-entry bookkeeping
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly in-house payroll for staff
  • Ensure the accounting process runs smoothly using Sage

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in Sage is essential
  • Experience in stock control and payroll is highly desirable
  • Someone reliable and detail-oriented - described by the Director as "a safe pair of hands"
