Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Site Maintenance Operative/Caretaker to support a school environment on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out routine inspections and repairs of the School buildings, equipment and external environment, including annual, monthly, weekly and daily inspections.
  • Investigate reported site issues, provide possible solutions and initiate repair / maintenance, discussing with the Headteacher / EFM if appropriate.
  • To carry out and record the necessary water risk assessment checks, and coordinate up to date surveys.
  • Ensure that any repairs are carried out in a timely way, report any defects.
  • Ensure prompt cleaning of sickness, and spillage's.
  • Ensure all bursts, leaks, flooding, fires and breakages are dealt with promptly and safely as appropriate.

You must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, have basic DIY skills, good knowledge of health and safety regulations and have the ability to plan, organise and prioritise.

Previous experience required within: Caretaking, maintenance, some DIY, cleaning etc.

Requirements:

  • A valid Enhanced DBS is required.

Working hours: 2 days per week, either Tuesday and Wednesday OR Wednesday and Thursday 10.30am-6pm, with 30 minute lunch break.

Temporary role- a minimum of 6 weeks, starting immediately.

Rate of Pay, depending on experience, between £11.44-£12.50 per hour.
