General Foreman - Major Highway Scheme - Bedford A leading civil engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Foreman to join our team on a major highway project in Bedford. This is an opportunity to contribute to a project that will enhance the region's transportation network and contribute to its economic development. What You'll Do:
- Lead and supervise a team of skilled workers and subcontractors, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction activities on the highway project.
- Maintain high standards of quality and productivity, adhering to project specifications, drawings, and all relevant regulations.
- Oversee a variety of construction tasks, including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, and utility installation.
- Coordinate with project management, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress.
- Champion safety on the project, actively promoting a culture of awareness and ensuring the highest safety standards are consistently met.
- Contribute to the successful completion of the project, meeting deadlines and achieving the highest quality standards.
What We Need:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman on major highway or road construction projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant health and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing a team and collaborating with stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to achieving project goals on time and within budget.
- A strong commitment to safety, with a proven ability to implement and uphold the highest safety standards.
