Trainee Building Safety Manager

We are seeking a Trainee Building Safety Manager to join a large social housing provider in London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience and training in building safety. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage assigned geographical patches, ensuring compliance with building safety regulations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of high-rise buildings, focusing on fire and structural risks.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and build strong relationships across various departments.
  • Lead initiatives based on best practice and future-proofing principles.
  • Work autonomously, demonstrating self-discipline and the ability to manage one’s workload effectively.
  • Travel throughout the asset portfolio as required, ensuring all areas meet safety standards.
  • Analyse data from as-built documents and drawings to assess building safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge and understanding of the Building Safety Act.
  • Good understanding of Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Proficient in managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with professional surveyors/engineers.
  • Understanding of structural safety and design principles.
  • Capable of working to tight guidelines and targets.
