My client is a very successful Norfolk based training organisation offering professional development in the Financial Services Sector as well as apprenticeships and leadership training.
I am specifically looking for current qualified and experienced insurance professionals who are seeking a rewarding change of role, as a trainer.
In this role you will be responsible for managing, training, and assessing a caseload of apprentices working within the insurance industry. Your primary focus will be to support learners in building a portfolio of competency-based evidence and provide structured learning experiences to develop their industry knowledge, skills and behaviours
Key roles and responsibilities
Teach and assess across groups of learners from a range of backgrounds, abilities, and ages across a range of qualification types (CII / LIBF / CISI) through our online systems
Plan and prepare training and assessment sessions, assisting in the research and development of new topics, courses and teaching materials for online delivery and participation, as required
Develop the craft of teaching to provide learners with engaging sessions that encourage curiosity whilst always maintaining the highest standards of teaching and assessment practice
Build rapport with employers to ensure the successful delivery of training programmes and ensure the employer is providing a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning
Conduct regular progress and planning meetings with both the employer and learner
Perform occasional site visits to employers to review learner progress
Monitor and mark learner’s work providing developmental feedback to ensure continuous personal and professional development
Carry out pastoral support as a mentor to learners, raising any concerns immediately to the company’s designation safeguarding office
Plan and provide additional support for learners with additional support needs
Create support plans for learners if they fall behind
Embed personal development, welfare, and behaviour topics into sessions where appropriate
Support and embed functional skills through stretching and challenge learner’s literacy and numeracy, when training, assessing, or marking
Undertake a range of administrative tasks to support learners' journeys, maintaining accurate records and monitoring learners’ progress using the Skill Star system
Participate in the enrolment and induction of prospective learners
Contribute to standardisation and team meetings
Keep up to date with, and adhere to company performance and quality frameworks, policies, and processes
Operate strictly within the funding and performance rules of our commissioners including the Education and Skills Funding Agency and Ofsted
Maintain the culture of performance and quality built on openness, respect and high professional standards
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of your subject or professional area through meeting the CPD requirements of the CII / PFS
Any other duties as appropriate
Personal Specification
Minimum 5 years’ experience working within the insurance sector (Essential)
In-depth knowledge of insurance or specialism (Essential)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
Exceptional IT literacy, and excellent use of Microsoft Office (Essential)
Interpersonal skills (ability to relate to students of all ages and abilities), and comfortable communicating via online conferences (Essential)
Strong organisation and planning skills (Essential)
Creativity to make learning engaging (Essential)
A flexible approach to work (Essential)
Enthusiasm, positivity, motivation and commitment (Essential)
Patience and a sense of humour (Essential)
10 years’ experience working within an IFA, Insurance Provider or brokerage (Desirable)
Level 3 teaching or training qualification (Desirable and can be supplied)
Level 3 assessing qualification (Desirable and can be supplied)
Training, coaching and mentoring experience (Desirable)
CII DipPFS (Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning), equivalent or DipCII (Diploma in Insurance) or higher (Desirable)
