Gap personnel is working with a fantastic client based in Norwich NR7 who are looking for Technical Service Operator on a permanent basis, who will be responsible for running the Production Machines (Moulders, Top Coaters, Wadding, Closing,

You will need to provide first level technical support to the cell or Manufacturing area to ensure the smooth running of machinery and equipment, carrying out tasks related to Job and Colour changes, and basic maintenance tasks as instructed.

Maximise the quality and output levels from the cell and manufacturing area, whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

Contacting Maintenance and Tool room directly to resolve machinery/Tooling issues in a timely manner to achieving set targets and running Short Interval Control (SIC) for area of responsibility.

To be responsible for Carrying out quality checks, hourly inspection, quarantining work, back checking if required. Identifying poor quality and resolving such issues

Please ask them for suitable people who can do the rotational shift pattern. (4days on 4days off)

Days 05:45hrs – 18.00hrs      

Nights 17:45hrs – 06.00hrs

Tasks

  • Packing, Labelling, and Palletising of product in line with the SOPs relating to specific lines and products.
  • Carrying out quality checks; involving hourly inspection of the product, quarantining and back checking components and completing associated documentation. Where poor quality is found, restarting production to the correct standards.
  • Safely starting and stopping injection moulding machines and auxiliary assembly equipment as required.
  • Collecting materials and continually fill the hoppers throughout the shift as required, (Masterbatch, liner, slip).
  • Emptying waste bins, recycling, and weighing scrap.
  • Completing logbooks with BOM (Bill of Materials) details.
  • Recording production in the respective logbooks and for new works orders on the new sheet, traceability information, machine issues and resolution/root cause.
  • Ensure physical shift hand overtakes place on every shift change over.
  • Carry out re-sort as required and carton making tasks as required.
  • Carry out Barrel Purges on injection moulding machines.
  • Responding to emergency oil/water and material leaks/bursts on machinery ensuring the appropriate procedure is followed for stopping the machine depending on the severity of the leak, before informing a Setter or member of the Maintenance Team and assisting with the clean-up.
  • Ensure all rejects and purging are cleared away and weighed and recorded as scrap.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance on finishing machines and completing E-maint tickets for any of the breakdowns beyond the post holder’s ability to rectify.
  • Assisting setters with job and works order changes and documenting work carried out.
  • Moving mould tools on the cell and to the tool room using overhead crane and electric tool trucks.
  • Organising equipment for changeovers, including cleaning and checking.
  • Assisting with Planned Maintenance (PM) programs and machine maintenance programs.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by the Team Leader that falls within the scope of this role and the department.
  • When to stop machines to carry out a colour change, shear pin replacements and other tasks on machines to minimise the impact on production.
  • When a machine line clearance has been sufficiently completed to restart production.
  • When sufficient quality has been achieved to submit an ATR to put caps into production
  • following a colour change.
  • Assessing unit quality and judging defects and take decision on running or invoking ‘stop and fix’.

Working with injection moulding machines and on basic maintenance on finishing machines – greasing, track cleaning and filter changes. The post holder also operates a forklift truck and overhead crane and is required to do so in a safe manner.

The role is physically demanding within a factory floor environment and includes standing, lifting weights up to 20 Kgs, bending, stretching twisting, turning, pushing and pulling movements, manoeuvring and repetitive lifting. The job entails hand, wrist, arm rotating actions and crawling into confined spaces and climbing on platforms to reach on top of machines.
