Our client is a social housing provider with a real focus on developing good quality affordable housing. Currently they are seeking an Income Officer for a Temporary role

To apply candidates should have worked in a similar role within social housing and have some prior knowledge on benefits and how to manage rent arrears.

Duties will include:

  • Manage a caseload of customers in arrears, focusing on lower-level casework
  • Contact customers through various methods (phone, email, letters, face-to-face) to discuss arrears and make repayment arrangements
  • Provide basic budgeting advice to support customers in managing their financial situation
  • Assist customers with benefit entitlements, offering guidance on how to apply or maximize their claims
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and payment arrangements
  • Negotiate repayment terms that balance customer affordability and organizational requirements
  • Escalate complex cases to senior officers when necessary
  • Confidently handle challenging and difficult conversations with customers, maintaining professionalism

Please note this role will require an up to date Basic DBS.
