Reporting to the Financial Controller your role as the Finance Manager will be focussed on People , Process and Systems.  You will be responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring the Finance Team to perform and meet the team and overall company objectives.

As a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) you will have direct responsibility for the transactional team covering both payables and receivables.

Duties and responsibilities include;

  • Managing, coaching and mentoring the Finance Team to ensure they are high performing, engaged, motivated and happy at work.
  • Organising regular catch up's/1-2-1's and more formal quarterly PDC's to ensure SMART personal and work objectives are set which align themselves to the overall Company strategic goals.
  • Ensuring the team are fully supported and have the necessary development, skills and experience to undertake their jobs to the standards required.
  • Working closely with the team to understand and review transactional processes.  To work on ways to improve these processes to make them more efficient.
  • Working with IT & Change teams to help automate certain processes by adapting the current systems.  Driving through outstanding tickets with the IT/Change teams which will help reduce the amount of manual work for the team and allow them time to work on other ways to add value back to the business.
  • Production of the month end management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Update & maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Collating, reviewing, and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
  • Involved in weekly and monthly reporting.  Helping improve the quality of that information and looking ways to better automate manual reporting.
  • Completing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual Office for National Statistics (ONS) forms and business surveys.
  • Providing ad-hoc financial information and support to other departments.
  • Assisting the FC with the external year end audit as required.  Helping collate information for the auditors.
  • Supporting the outsourced payroll function ensuring accurate reporting across departments.
