An opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Manager to join a leading and progressive firm of Chartered Accountants, Tax Specialists and Business Advisers in Norwich. The Role The role is to be responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients in the Norfolk and Suffolk area within the specialism of Personal Tax. This role will sit within the Personal Tax team in the wider Tax department and offers excellent career progression and a genuine opportunity for someone to develop their knowledge.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Complex personal tax compliance and advisory work for high-net-worth individuals including advice on residence and domicile;
  • Provide tax planning solutions tailored to medical professionals, including doctors, consultants, and other healthcare practitioners;
  • Navigate complex NHS pension schemes, income sources, and expense deductions to optimise tax outcomes for clients in the medical field;
  • Responsible for quoting fees, raising fee invoices and managing their own WIP (work in progress);
  • Working with Trainees and Assistants to support their workload and ongoing practical training;
  • Working closely and assisting the Tax Managers, Director of Private Client Services and Partners with complex planning matters;
  • Demonstrating a proactive understanding of current tax legislation, compliance regulations and technical developments relevant to client situations;
  • Ensuring work is undertaken to comply with relevant professional standards; and

The Candidate

  • CTA qualified, and/or ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Experience dealing with complex tax compliance and advisory work;
  • Experience of overseeing and reviewing the work of trainees;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excel skills; and
  • Working knowledge of accounting packages is preferred but full training is available.
