Job Purpose
  • Manage a tax portfolio including all commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns, acting as clients’ go-to person to deal with enquiries effectively
  • Review computations prepared by junior staff with constructive feedback and identify training gaps
  • Maintain a record of corporation tax returns, ensuring all returns are filed on time
  • Deliver advisory services on complex tax matters including incorporations, IT/CGT planning, reconstructions and demergers
  • Research and interpret changes to tax legislation, both UK and overseas
  • Liaise with HMRC to negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Create tax strategies and plan their financial futures
  • Undertake detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advising on how to minimise liability
  • Build strong rapport with clients, proactively handling queries and resolving complex issues
  • Champion professional development, undertaking regular training opportunities

Job Requirements
  • CTA qualified is essential
  • Strong and demonstrable experience in UK practice
  • Ability to oversee an OMB portfolio, as well as compliance and tax planning work
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Track record of portfolio management, including monitoring and reporting on all commercial aspects
  • Organised and able to manage own workload
  • Excellent IT skills and able to learn new software quickly
  • A team player who can provide effective mentorship to junior staff
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • An eagerness to progress with the firm, undertaking continuous professional development
