The Assistant Estimator position is a permanent role based in Norfolk with a salary range of £35k-£40k plus a competitive package.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience with a main contractor in an estimating or pre-construction role.
The role involves managing cost plans and pricing for tenders typically valued between £5m and £15m under JCT D&B forms of contract.
Experience with Causeway or Conquest software is advantageous, along with a background in New Build and/or Refurbishment projects.
Candidates are required to have a degree or HND/HNC in a construction-related subject.

Company & Project: An established regional contractor operating in the Mixed-Use, Leisure, Commercial and Education sectors, are seeking to recruit an experienced an effective Assistant Estimator to complement their business based in Norfolk.

Our client has secured a number of key projects in 2025. They are now looking to add a new Assistant Estimator to their team to focus on their busy tender pipeline.

The business has a long-standing pre-construction team with an experienced Director that would be an excellent mentor for the successful individual.

Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the cost plans and pricing of single and 2-stage tenders in the main under JCT D&B forms of contract and typically £5m - £15m in value. There are a large number of tenders from a pre-existing frameworks in addition to selective tender.

You will assist with producing BOQ's, take offs, full cost plans and target cost reporting with occasional pre con surveying duties including deed of appointment and procurement.

Desirable Experience:

- 2 years+ experience with a main contractor in an estimator or pre-construction or surveying position.
- Use of Causeway or Conquest software would be advantageous.
- Sector experience must include New Build and/or Refurbishment projects.
- Previous Roles: Trainee Estimator OR Assistant Estimator OR Pre-Construction Surveyor OR Intermediate Estimator.

Qualifications & Skills: Degree or HND/HNC in a Construction related subject. Conquest software experience preferable.
