Are you an experienced Senior Test Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a leading engineering company, is seeking a skilled professional to join their Test and Simulation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge verification and validation tasks, focusing on the testing of electric motor components and drive systems.

About the Role:

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will take ownership of dynamometer verification testing, manage test schedules, and oversee test rig and fixture design changes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring all testing processes align with industry standards and company procedures. This is a technical leadership role, requiring strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and define test facilities, schedules, and validation processes.
  • Plan and execute verification and validation testing of electric drive systems.
  • Design and implement test system architecture, including NI LabVIEW coding for verification.
  • Lead root cause analysis on test failures and identify solutions for improvement.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor test engineers to support ongoing development.
  • Ensure all test procedures, jigs, and fixtures meet high-quality engineering standards.
  • Process and evaluate test data to ensure validity and compliance.
  • Produce technical reports and provide recommendations based on test results.
  • Maintain test equipment calibration and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support new product development through testing, data analysis, and competitor bench marking.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Degree (BEng/BSc) in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in an engineering development environment, preferably in Automotive or similar sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics principles, including signal measurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in NI LabVIEW and experience with data acquisition systems (PXI, PXIe chassis & cards).
  • Experience using MATLAB for data analysis and presentation of results.
  • Understanding of DSP, Fourier Transform, sampling rates, bandwidth, and signal processing.
  • Excellent technical reporting skills with experience in verification and validation procedures.

Desirable:

  • Experience in visual programming, multithreaded processes, and API integration's (e.g., C++, C#).
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical testing methodologies and pre-compliance testing.
  • Familiarity with MRP software and engineering management systems.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm
