Document Controller
  • Location: Norwich
  • Job Type: Contract (3 months initially, potential for permanent)
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
  • Salary: Hourly rate dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated Document Controller to join our team on an initial 3-month contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves managing all aspects of document control, ensuring efficient handling and timely distribution of documents to clients and vendors. The ideal candidate will support our Engineering & Projects team, maintaining compliance with our Quality Management System and ensuring all documentation processes are streamlined and effective.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Liaise with and support the Engineering & Projects team on all aspects of document control.
  • Manage day-to-day project document control activities including registration, issue, transmittal, and return of comments.
  • Develop and maintain an electronic document control database for storage and retrieval of pertinent information, including control of the master document register (MDR).
  • Ensure timely turnaround of documentation issued internally and received externally.
  • Enable Project Managers to effectively proceed with their projects, ensuring all documentation is prepared, stored, and accurately archived.
  • Review and verify all project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements, if applicable.
  • Control and organise the production of manufacturers record book (MRB) and data packs for projects.
  • Ensure all documents raised by the Company are numbered in the approved manner and distributed to relevant recipients.
  • Comply with all Project Procedures, adhering to AE policies and procedures in line with ISO 9001 & 14001 guidelines/requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in document control or a similar role; fresh graduates with relevant skills are also welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and ISO standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams.
  • Proficiency in using document control software and databases.
