Warehouse and Logistics Manager

We are seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to provide strong leadership and support the development of our Warehousing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing best-in-practice warehouse processes and procedures, implementing systems and controls for stock accuracy, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee Health and Safety processes and practices within the warehouse and distribution areas.
  • Develop and implement warehouse processes and procedures to monitor and manage stock levels and maintain high levels of stock accuracy.
  • Optimise warehouse capacity through effective systems and processes.
  • Manage the Norwich and Great Yarmouth warehouses, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
  • Lead and allocate work to employees, ensuring they are motivated and have the necessary skills to maximise output.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and identify corrective actions.
  • Manage warehouse budgets to deliver cost-effective performance without compromising service or quality.
  • Oversee cycle counts and stock control processes, investigating discrepancies.
  • Regularly review distribution networks and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Challenge load fill with key stakeholders and manage third-party logistics, including UK and export contracts.
  • Utilise scanning platforms to ensure stock accuracy for finished goods and packaging.
  • Maintain a ‘can do’ attitude and strive to meet strict targets and deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in embedding a best-in-class safety culture.
  • Extensive management experience in warehousing and logistics, preferably in a multi-site operation.
  • Track record of managing and developing warehouse staff.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and reviewing continuous improvement plans.
  • Exceptional focus on stock management and control with various systems.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, including risk assessments, HACCP, COSHH, and SOPs.
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and during peak times.
  • Driven to maintain high standards within warehouse operations.
  • Strong numerical ability and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
