- Supplier Management: Interpret the company requirement plan and manage supplier order books using the MRP system to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
- Order Processing: Process and assess purchase order acknowledgements, ensure on-time deliveries, track shipments, and expedite suppliers as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Supply Chain and Planning teams to identify product shortages and facilitate necessary order amendments.
- Problem Solving: Address delivery delays with urgency, working with suppliers to find effective resolutions to minimize business impact.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers at all organizational levels through regular contact.
- Data Management: Ensure all systems and spreadsheets are updated with accurate order and delivery information.
- Procurement Support: Assist with entry-level procurement tasks, supported by the Supply Chain Manager and Buyers.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks that align with the role’s scope and nature.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and influencing abilities to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, employing critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience: Previous experience in Supply Chain, ideally within a manufacturing environment, is desirable.
- Work Ethic: Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Working as part of the wider company team including Programme management, Engineering, QA, Inspection, Stores and Operations.
- Occasional travel to supplier sites in the UK.
- Some unsocial working hours may be required from time to time.
- Working within a strict time, budgetary and quality framework.
