We are seeking a dynamic NPD Technologist to lead and support the development of new customer and proactive concepts from inception through to launch. This role is based in a brand new site and the successful candidate will confidently lead product trials and launches, to be put into successful product launches.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead projects from customer brief to post-launch review, navigating through the NPD stage gate process.
  • Conduct and support pilot plant and factory trials, which can be physically demanding.
  • Identify risks and issues within projects, collaborating with the R&D and Operations teams to mitigate risks and solve problems effectively.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all trials and experimental data, adhering to the stage gate process for each project.
  • Document and analyse data from trials, communicating results and actions cross-functionally in a timely manner.
  • Provide detailed product information to the technical team for accurate specification completion.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on project-related work.
  • Lead or engage in research sessions with the R&D team or wider business to deliver solutions.
  • Work across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Participate in additional activities or duties that benefit the individual, department, or company.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Food Science or a relevant science-related field.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a food-based company.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, Food Regulations, and HACCP.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effective communication at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with operational teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills, a 'can do' attitude, and a strong desire to meet strict targets and deadlines.
  • Flexibility and a keen problem-solving ability.
  • Full Driving Licence with access to own car.
