Location: Norwich

Salary: £21,709.61 - £22,388.59 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time onlySchedule: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm

School Overview:

A well-established educational institution is expanding and seeking Level 2 Teaching Assistants. The school provides day placements for students aged 11 to 16 years with communication and interaction difficulties, specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, and some students on the autistic spectrum or with anxieties and other barriers to learning.

Class Size:

  • Maximum of 10 students per class
  • Minimum of 3 staff per class

Support Team:

  • Full clinical team onsite
  • Experienced and stable Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
Key Duties:
  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and engaged.
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils while maintaining high behavioral expectations.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities.
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
  • Adapt to varying and changing needs of the school to ensure smooth operations.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Essential: GCSE Maths and English Language minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Note: Due to the school's location, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
