With over 40 years of experience in the vehicle leasing sector, our client is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the dedicated Finance team at their Nottingham site. This opportunity will see you join a well-known business in its sector with a great reputation in the region. What You'll Be Doing…
As an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller to support the finance function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing hourly paid payroll, including control account reconciliations (SAGE 50 Payroll).
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing bank reconciliations for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions.
- Handling expenses and credit card functions.
- Supporting the sales and purchase ledger functions, including resolving complex queries and assisting with supplier statement reconciliations.
- Providing holiday cover for other team members within the finance team.
- Assisting with system improvements and finance projects.
What We're Looking For…
- Fully AAT qualified.
- 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Payroll processing experience.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP/Business Central desirable).
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to support the wider finance team.
