We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an exciting12 month fixed term contractopportunity for aFinancial Accountantto join their dynamic Finance team inNottingham. In this role, you will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure strong control over the balance sheet, providing internalassurance and safeguarding the delivery ofstatutory audit submissions. There will also be some involvement in systems accounting, to support the implementation of a new ERP system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control: Responsible forpreparing monthly accounts, ensuring reconciliations are accurate and that necessary controls are in place. You will managebalance sheet packs, prepare specific reconciliations, and review those prepared by other teams. You will also handlemonth-end close, including preparingschedules for internal reporting.
- External Audit: Assist (or lead) in the audits for theGroup,UK,Danish, andSwedishentities. Provideaccurate informationand prioritise audit requirements to minimise time and cost.
- Tax: PrepareVAT returns, ensuring compliance with legislation and reconciling allVAT balances. You will also managewithholding tax transactionsand analysePAYE Settlement Agreements.
- Insight: Preparecash flow forecasts, providing detailed analysis of actual vs. forecasted positions. You will also liaise withMembers Advisorsto resolve any member-related queries, especially concerningdrawingsanddistributions.
- Ad hoc dutiesas needed to support the Finance team.
- Advanced Excel skills(pivot tables, logic formulas, and look-ups).
- Proficiency inMicrosoft Office(Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- A relevantqualificationsuch as ACCA/ACA/CIMA, along withrelevant experiencein finance.
- Experience withVAT returnsand working withaudits.
- Strong knowledge offinance systems.
- Experience in adynamic finance environment, managing various tasks and responsibilities.
- Exceptionaltime managementandorganisational skills, with the ability to prioritise.
- Excellentcommunicationskills and a proactive, personable approach.
- A willingness tolearnnew skills and deepen your understanding of the industry.
- Industry experienceis desirable but not essential.
