Back to searchWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our client's Infrastructure Finance team in Nottingham. For local applicants, 3 days onsite and 2 days from home hybrid working will be offered. For applicants out of area, home working will be offered, with 1-2 days a month travel to Nottingham office required.
In this role, you will assist the Senior Finance Manager in managing financial reporting and management for complex infrastructure portfolios across multiple Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), focusing on renewable energy and low-carbon assets.
Your responsibilities will include the preparation and production of monthly management accounts, which will involve balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments. You will also be responsible for producing the quarterly consolidated accounts and managing the monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting. You will oversee monthly cash management, cash flow forecasting, and distribution management to ensure financial stability. Furthermore, you will assist in reviewing quarterly VAT returns and perform quarterly intercompany reconciliations.
As part of your duties, you will support the production of the annual budget and the preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS/FRS 102 reporting standards. You will also assist with debt and lender reporting, provide audit support, and contribute to tax compliance efforts. Additionally, you will serve as a point of contact for fund teams, answering any queries and ensuring smooth communication. Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, such as Ofgem, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the renewable energy market will also be key aspects of your role.
Qualities, Skills, and Experience Required: You should have proven experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, as well as a strong ability to work independently and proactively. Excellent organisational and time-management skills will be essential as you balance competing priorities. Previous experience in a similar financial accounting role is necessary, and you must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software. A Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) is essential, or you should be working towards completion of this qualification. We have a strong preference to hire applicants with Asset Management sector experience.
