Legal Support Manager - Nottingham (Hybrid) | £40,000 - £45,000
My client, a progressive and highly regarded law firm based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Legal Support Manager to join their Real Estate Team in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a well-established firm, overseeing a team of up to 20 secretarial and administrative staff.
The Role:
As Legal Support Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality support services within the department. Acting as the key point of contact, you will manage the team’s performance, wellbeing, and professional development, ensuring operational efficiency and first-class client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of 20+ legal secretaries and administrators, ensuring high performance and service excellence.
- Conduct regular progress meetings, annual appraisals, and probation reviews in line with competency frameworks.
- Manage headcount, recruitment, and selection to align with business needs.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and induction of new starters, transfers, and returning employees.
- Provide pastoral care and wellbeing support, fostering a positive team culture.
- Work closely with senior management, developing strong relationships with stakeholders to meet KPIs.
- Lead departmental projects, drive positive change, and implement process improvements.
- Ensure full compliance with firm-wide policies and champion department initiatives.
- Arrange and chair legal support team meetings, reporting on performance and operational effectiveness.
About You:
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience managing support staff within a law firm. You will be a proactive and confident leader, capable of driving operational excellence while maintaining a strong team culture.
