About the Role:
Join our dynamic and growing Building Surveying team in Bristol as a Managing Surveyor/Associate Director and play a key role in delivering a diverse range of projects across both the public and private sectors. You'll be joining a well-established team of 29 professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact, driving our decarbonisation initiatives and contributing to the continued success of our Building Surveying services in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage a variety of building surveying projects, from minor works to significant alterations, ensuring successful delivery to time, budget, and quality standards.
- Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with our diverse client base, understanding their needs and providing expert guidance.
- Tendering & Procurement: Play a key role in the tendering and procurement process, ensuring competitive and successful bids.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert building surveying advice and solutions, leveraging your broad skillset and experience.
- Decarbonisation Focus: Actively contribute to our growing portfolio of decarbonisation projects, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of building surveyors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Business Development: Contribute to the growth of our Nottingham office by identifying new opportunities and building strong client relationships.
- Strategic Contribution: Feed directly into the team at the associate director level, contributing to the strategic direction of the Building Surveying team in Nottingham.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure consistent high standards of service delivery and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Chartered Status: MUST be a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS).
- Experience: Proven experience within building surveying, ideally within a consultancy environment, demonstrating a broad range of project experience.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience working across both public and private sectors is highly desirable.
- Project Delivery: Extensive experience in managing the full project lifecycle, including survey programs.
- Decarbonisation: Experience or a strong interest in decarbonisation initiatives within the built environment.
- Team Management: Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of building surveyors, including mentoring and performance management.
- Client Management: Strong client management and development skills, with the ability to build and maintain valuable relationships.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial understanding and experience of managing profitability, scopes of work, and contractual proposals.
