Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for an Assistant Marketing Manager to support the Centre’s Marketing Manager in delivering compelling campaigns & events that drive footfall, retailer sales and market share, in line with the Centre’s annual marketing plan.
The new team member will identify and create engaging content from within the Centre and its brands to amplify across the Centre website and relevant channels, as well as plan and coordinate events to give people even more reasons to visit the centre.
The Assistant Marketing Manager will also deputise for the Marketing Manager when needed and form part of the Centre’s Duty Management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Marketing Manager to deliver the Centre’s marketing plan in line with the overall strategy for the centre.
- In discussion and with approval of Marketing Manager, plan and execute the annual budget for events and campaigns.
- Manage the organisation and set up of centre events, such as student nights, Summer and Christmas events.
- Work closely with the Marketing Assistant with the curation and development of engaging content for the centre and its brands to amplify across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok giving people even more reasons to visit the centre.
- Continually evaluate all marketing campaigns and events to ensure they remain within budget and can demonstrate a return on investment.
- Regularly communicate with stores to ensure brands are fully engaged with the available marketing support and aware of opportunities available to them.
- Work closely with external agencies, to produce creative and compelling advertising, PR, and online campaigns that will drive footfall, engagement and repeat visits to the centre.
- Manage all print production and centre comms (including centre owned screens such as TVs and car park screens)
- To support the marketing manager with any reactive media, including crisis management situations.
- Assist the marketing manager in the delivery of a CR plan that addresses the needs of the community in line with the corporate objectives.
- Any other duties as appropriate.
- Support the marketing manager to ensure that all marketing communications, including collateral produced for brands, visitors, local community stakeholders, CR partners or commercial partners are in line with the centre’s brand guidelines and policies.
- To deputise for the marketing manager when needed, working closely with the marketing assistant and centre’s operational team.
- Form part of the centre’s Duty Management team – working as Duty Manager on a rota basis.

Technical:
- Experience in managing communications, marketing, events is essential
- Experience in shopping centre marketing or marketing in an operational environment is desirable
- Ability to prioritise and manage their time and workload with multiple tasks and deadlines, as well as understanding when issues need escalating – or delegating to those with greater resources or experience
- Ability to formulate project / event launch timelines and interdependencies is essential
- Confident and clear communication skills and ability to deal professionally with all levels of stakeholders, ranging from internal operational teams, management teams, external agencies, to senior board members.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Be aware of budget constraints and use cost management processes to control key areas of budget/expenditure.
- Proficient and experienced user of creating content and updating comms channels (CMS, social media scheduling and monitoring systems such as Sprout Social, Mailchimp, Purple WiFi, Canva, Pixlr)
- Proficient and experienced user of MS Office including Excel & Powerpoint & Word
Working Hours - 37.5 hrs. Core hours: Monday – Friday (8.30am – 5pm) with occasional evenings and weekends where required as part of the Centre’s Duty Management team
Salary - £30 - £35k Depending on experience
