Client Details

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Fridges & Freezers will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the company's refrigeration products in the retail and food manufacturing sectors. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and delivering tailored refrigeration solutions that meet the specific needs of retail customers, such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and speciality retailers as well as manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and business development, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to strategically position products in a competitive market. You will have sold into Retailers, Food manufacturers and alike.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in the retail refrigeration market. Develop strategies to penetrate new accounts and expand the company's customer base.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with retail clients, key decision-makers, and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive sales of retail fridges, freezers, and related products to meet or exceed sales targets. Develop pricing strategies and proposals in collaboration with the product and marketing teams.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, emerging trends, and competitive products. Provide feedback and insights to the product development team to enhance the company's product offerings.
  • Solution Selling: Understand the technical specifications and benefits of the company's refrigeration products and communicate them effectively to retail clients. Customise solutions based on individual client requirements.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and profitability goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery and after-sales service.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Regularly report on sales activities, market trends, and revenue forecasts to senior management. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

Profile

  • Proven experience in business development, preferably in refrigeration, retail equipment, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail and food manufacturing operations and the role of refrigeration in enhancing store performance and customer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration technology and trends in energy-efficient solutions.
  • Experience working with large retail chains or franchise networks.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
