We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our Commercial team. You will be part of a leading international FMCG organisation manufacturing cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. We are offering a competitive salary along with a generous benefits package.

You will play a central role in the support of our global customers in order to deliver increased volume and profit.

Your key accountabilities will be:

Customer Development:

  • Work with the Key Account Director (KAD) to understand the customer 3 year plans
  • Together with the Fareva product manager develop proactive customer offers for presentation to the customer
  • Maintain customer accountability but seek expert input as required   
  • Understand customer’s needs for proactive value engineering and other Business Retention requirements
  • Proactively market Fareva’s facilities to customer contacts via presentations and/or factory/development lab visits
  • Drive the customer culture through the internal teams
  • Work constructively with the international Fareva plants and Development teams to drive customer understanding

Business Winning Ownership:

  • Evaluate customer briefs and assess if this is viable/desirable business for Fareva
  • Understand the customer brief & engage the Fareva teams through the Business Winning process
  • Follow the Business Winning process
  • Work with Project Mangers to ensure tender timings are met
  • Present respond to the customer ensuring all data and sample requirements are met and assumptions are detailed
  • Gauge customer response
  • Escalate to the KAD if current business or tenders are at risk

Key Customer Management:

  • Engage with customer throughout the tendering process
  • Understand competitor situation with each tender
  • Communicate with customer on quality, supply and write off issues
  • Develop a close working relationship with key contacts in Sourcing
  • Financials
  • Review on a monthly basis the sales & profitability for the area with the KAD
  • Investigate low contribution products
  • Develop a plan through product mix or full service opportunity to improve contribution
  • Alert KAD to product areas under competitive pressure

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ideally you will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) with demonstrable account management experience which you will have gained through working in a FMCG environment.
  • You will be an effective team player, with attention to detail and excellent influencing and interpersonal skills. Your demonstrated ability in building internal and external networks as well as making an impact on influential individuals / groups is crucial to the success of this role and to the success of our projects.
  • You will have strong analytical capacity and innovative problem-solving skills as well as commercial acumen in order to achieve in this role.
