Building Surveyor - Nottingham

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to join an established team. This is an ideal role for a skilled professional looking to contribute to exciting projects and provide ongoing support to clients across a variety of sectors in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings in sectors including education, commercial, and industrial to assess their condition.
  • Identify and diagnose building defects, such as structural issues, damp, and fire safety concerns.
  • Provide detailed reports on building conditions, recommending necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Advise clients on the suitability of building materials, construction methods, and renovation plans.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage construction or renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure properties comply with local building codes, planning regulations, and health and safety laws.
  • Advise on planning applications and building permits
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and offer recommendations

Key Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • BSc in Building Surveying or a similar qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Practical understanding of commercial property.
  • Experience within the education sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.
