Commercial Director Role:-
The Commercial Director will have a proven track record in a similar role from a multidisciplinary environment. This individual will be responsible for shaping their business strategy and able to drive commercial success.
Commercial Director Responsibilities:-
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop and manage the strategic business plan
- Set and agree budgets and forecasts in line with the strategic business plan
- Recruit, train and deploy the commercial team
- Maximise financial returns on projects through strategic management
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks, developing solution when needed
- Review and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts/subcontracts pre and post tender award
- Manage and resolve commercial disputes
- Monitor Business Unit costs to remain within budget constraints
- Maintain and healthy cash flow for the business
- Support the estimating and biding processes within the commercial and contractual expertise
- Ensure thorough tender handovers so that pricing strategies, risks and opportunities are communicated effectively to the project
- Develop and manage commercial strategies that align with company goals and objectives
Commercial Director Requirements:-
- Degree Qualified - BSc Quantity Surveying & Construction Management
- MRICS in desirable
- Proven track record within a Commercial leadership role, Commercial Director, Senior Commercial Manager or Regional Commercial Manager
- Excellent understanding for NEC forms of contract
- Experience of working within a contractor
- Excellent team leadership
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain relationships
- High level of analytical and strategic thinking
