We are hiring for a Building Surveyor who has experience in conducting property inspections and assessments, providing expert advice on the condition, maintenance, and legal compliance of buildings across a variety of sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team where you will oversee building surveys for education, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Duties of a Building Surveyor
In this role, you will be working in a professional team to provide expert surveying and consultancy services. Reporting to the Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting detailed inspections of buildings in the education, commercial, and industrial sectors
• Identifying and diagnosing building defects, including structural issues, damp, and fire safety problems
• Providing accurate and thorough reports on the condition of buildings and recommending repairs
• Advising clients on suitable building materials, construction methods, and renovation plans
• Ensuring compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines
• Overseeing and managing construction or renovation projects, ensuring completion within budget and on time
• Preparing and reviewing documentation for building projects, including specifications, contracts, and reports

Skills and Experience of a Building Surveyor
As a Building Surveyor, you should have experience with:

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in building surveying
• A BSc in Building Surveying or a similar qualification (or equivalent experience)
• A practical understanding of commercial property
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard Microsoft packages
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to approach tasks strategically

It would be beneficial to the Building Surveyor role if you also had:

• Experience in the education sector (but this is not essential)
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
• Full UK driving licence
