Macildowie are actively seeking a Credit Controller to join a well established business based in Nottingham, NG8.

This is a full time position working Monday to Friday - 9am - 3pm - 4 days on site and 1 day from home - would be open to 2 days from home depending on experience.

Initially this is a 3 month contract but there is potential for this to be extended to a permanent role.

Salary is £26,500 per annum equivalent.

You will be joining a team of X6 in the Finance team, they use Sage 200 but experience is not essential as this can be trained. Finance experience preferred but not essential, its more about having the right attitude and willingness to learn from the team.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Manage and reduce debtor balances by ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Implement and maintain effective credit control procedures to minimise financial risk.
  • Use financial systems (e.g., Sage 200) to track and manage accounts receivable and payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, finance) to resolve payment-related issues.
  • Coordinate with external debt collection agencies or legal teams for overdue accounts.
  • Prepare and review reports on debtor aging, collection progress, and payment trends.
  • Resolve customer disputes and handle challenging conversations professionally.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring deadlines are met with attention to detail.
