Low Carbon Consultant / Energy Assessor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Low Carbon Consultant / Energy Assessor to join a growing consultancy in our client's Nottingham or Leeds office.

The Role: As a Low Carbon Consultant / Energy Assessor, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Building Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicists, and Document Controllers. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects across various market sectors, providing expertise in energy compliance, sustainability, building physics, and carbon calculations. The role spans all RIBA stages (0-6), from feasibility to final construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design team in meeting sustainability, energy, and low-carbon targets
  • Use IES software to create dynamic simulation models for building performance analysis
  • Prepare Energy Compliance (BRUKL), CIBSE TM52, and TM54 reports
  • Conduct assessments for heat loss/gain, daylighting, and ventilation
  • Collaborate with Low Carbon Consultants and Design Engineers on projects
  • Manage your own workload and lead individual projects
  • Provide guidance on BREEAM, Energy, and Low Carbon design solutions

Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Registered Non-Domestic Energy Assessor
  • Level 5 IES Energy Assessor - Proficient User
  • CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant
  • Degree or HNC/D in a relevant subject (or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations Part L
  • Strong time management skills with a flexible, organised approach
  • A team player with the ability to work independently when required
