Due to growth my client is seeking an ambitious, qualified Audit Manager to join their growing team in Nottingham. In this role, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, reporting to the RI, while overseeing assurance services and leading the audit team.

This opportunity is ideal for a client relationship manager looking to expand their portfolio or an existing manager seeking to work with more complex clients.   • You will work closely with the management team to oversee and deliver audits while supporting and guiding the wider audit team.

  • Acting as the key point of contact for clients, you will build strong relationships, manage expectations, and ensure smooth audit processes.

  • You will take the lead in managing and developing the team, serving as a role model and point of reference for audit staff.

  • Reviewing audit files, you will apply your technical expertise to uphold quality standards while continuing to enhance your own skills.

  • Identifying opportunities to add value, you will support clients in their business growth by understanding their needs and providing tailored insights.

  • You will maintain and develop your technical knowledge through training, webinars, and independent research into complex audit issues.

  • As a mentor and people manager, you will help team members achieve their professional and personal development goals.

  • Responsibilities will also include resource planning, performance management, and providing training and feedback to team members.

  • You will monitor WIP, proactively addressing overruns, and ensure timely billing, including prompting the RI for interim invoices when required.

The Successful candidate?

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice

  • Strong managerial experience with a track record of leading teams

  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage personal workload and portfolio workflow effectively

  • Skilled in setting and meeting deadlines efficiently
