Corporate Tax Assistant Manager - Nottingham

About Our ClientOur client is a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy and advisory firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality service across a broad and growing client base. As part of their continued success and expansion, they are looking to welcome a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to their dynamic team.

The RoleWhile the position leans towards compliance, there will be the opportunity to contribute to and gradually transition into advisory work, giving you real breadth and progression in your tax career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a varied portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring compliance deadlines are met and delivering high-quality tax services.

  • Mentor, support, and manage junior team members, including reviewing their work and guiding their development.

  • Deliver corporation tax compliance services, including the review of tax computations prepared by the wider accounting team.

  • Take ownership of your portfolio's billing, workflow and work in progress to ensure effective delivery and financial management.

  • Collaborate with HMRC on client matters, including managing queries and resolving issues.

  • Carry out detailed technical research and present findings to colleagues and clients in a clear, informed way.

  • Provide support for client meetings and contribute to corporate tax planning activities.

  • Respond to one-off queries from clients and colleagues, offering accurate and insightful guidance.

What We're Looking For

  • CTA qualified, with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience.

  • A solid understanding of financial accounts.

  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.

  • Strong technical skills, including tax software and broader IT proficiency.

  • Detail-focused, proactive, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
