Here's what you will be doing

Working with the Head of Strategic Finance this role exists to lead on the analysis and accounting of energy revenue, cost of sales and gross margin delivery. This role is pivotal to drive the commercial and strategic objectives of the E.ON Next Pillar through the provision of commercial models and analysis, to support leadership decision-making.

You'll be recognised as an expert in B2C gross margin and will play a pivotal role in driving transparency that allows business decisions to be optimised consistently against financial criteria.

Other responsibilities

  • Lead in the analysis and accounting of energy revenue and cost of sales ensuring that the business has rigorous gross margin accounting practices embedded.
  • Support the preparation of forecast, target setting, budgets and 5-year plans, to include gathering inputs through engagement with the business, reporting draft and final outcomes and commentary.
  • Ensure costing activities (Third Party and Commodity) are reflected accurately in the forecast, with changes to assumptions monitored, valued and communicated.
  • Support customer behaviour analysis collaboration with commercial teams for the production and monitoring of growth and portfolio dynamics.
  • Work with the Data Team for the continuous improvement of Gross Margin data integrity, accuracy and granularity, ensuring the use of quality structured datasets to provide business insight and visibility.
  • Be a trusted point of contact for business leaders, offering financial advice and insight for improved gross margin.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to drive process improvements, collaborating with Transformation team to digitalise and automate activity.

What we need from you

  • Experience working in Retail Energy Industry on Gross Margin.
  • Experience modelling financial and non-financial data.
  • Highly numerate and able to articulate complex ideas at Executive level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of solving complex business problems.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with often changing demands.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity.

It would be great if you have

  • CIMA/ACA, MBA or top tier strategy consulting experience.
