Head of Quality Control

Upperton Pharma Solutions is a Nottingham-based CDMO that specialises in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, providing a complete service from early-stage feasibility to GMP clinical manufacture. Formulations cover a range of delivery routes, typically including oral (tablets & capsules), nasal and inhaled.

The Role

Reporting to the Analytical Services Director you will lead the Quality Control team to provide a Quality Control testing service that meets both regulatory and business requirements. You will ensure all QC laboratory equipment, operational activity and data produced is in accordance with the site internal procedures and cGMP. You will be responsible for delivering all Quality Control activities on time and within budget to support Uppertons contract manufacturing and development activities. You will also be expected to coach and develop your team and actively support the Quality culture and Quality Management system within the company.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Quality Control to lead our QC team at Upperton. This position will focus on delivering the highest standard of quality and regulatory compliance ensuring all QC operational activity and data produced is in accordance with the site internal procedures and cGMP.

As Head of Quality Control you will be expected to have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with clients and cross functional teams.

Leadership capabilities are also key to this role, and we are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading successful teams and delivering projects on time, within regulatory compliance and customer expectations.

Experience and skills required

Extensive experience within an analytical cGMP environment

Proven experience in managing people and leading analytical projects

Degree level in analytical chemistry or equivalent with industry experience

Excellent communications skills to lead a team and manage projects across functional teams of internal or external contacts.

The ability to make quality critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities to support business needs

Professional working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to Quality Control testing in a cGMP environment
