Our client are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Qualify Lead. This role will involve working with all departments to ensure the company is constantly compliant to best practices in both Health and Safety and Quality.

As the new HSQL you will:

  • Review and manage Citation, update, and issue training modules.
  • Conduct an annual audit (1 day on site) to ensure compliance to health and safety regulations by all employees of the business.
  • Provide the necessary training and ongoing meetings to assist all employees.
  • Ensure equipment in all sites are installed safely and maintained to the required standards.
  • To deal with H&S issues and be classed as competent, the individual will require NEBOSH national as a minimum as well as undertake risk assessments and site inspections. Identifying potential hazards and determining ways of reducing risks.
  • Manage and implement ISO 9001 accreditation.
  • Review processes to ensure they are relevant.
  • Review operations to ensure processes are followed.
  • Keep up to date the safe operational practices ensuring adherence to any changes in legislation.
  • Investigate any health and safety issues raised by management or employees.
  • Ensure all First Aider and Fire Marshall responsibilities are carried out as per agreed policy and procedures.
  • Review on regular basis manufacturing area. This would include checking lifting equipment, fire extinguishers, walkways and the general safety of the workshop and office environment.
  • Undertake reviews of all reported accidents.
  • Ideally, you will have also undertaken some time on tools so that you have an idea of the manual handling and installation works we undertake.
  • Manage an annual audit of Safe Contractor, CHAS and other Accreditations.
  • Ensure system designs are compliant with relevant standards.

Requirements for the HSQL:

  • Up to date knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation
  • CMIOSH or NEBOSH Diploma
  • Up to 3 years' Health and Safety experience within Automation (an advantage)
  • Ability to effectively manage meetings
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  •  Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and high confidentiality
  • Ability to understand and interpret DWG’s
  • Strong IT skills in MS office including outlook, excel and word.

Salary for this role is between £30,000 and £35,000 (Depending on experience)
