Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG7 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with a group of autistic pupils across KS1 and KS2. This role is full time and will be on a contracted basis beginning September 2024

The role will begin as soon as possible and the hours of work will be 08:30-15:30

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least one years' experience working with autistic children
  • Has previously worked in a school environment
  • Can build relationships with children
  • Is an effective communicator
  • Can engage children with academic lessons

The main duties in this role will be:

  • Providing in class support to children with autism
  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Liaising with the school SENCO around progress of the pupils
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with children out of class
