  • We are currently recruiting for an Older Prisoner Wellbeing Coordinator to work with a leading charity specialising in the delivery of knowledge and expertise to older people who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The charity has been pioneering new, effective ways to support older offenders and ex-offenders and are currently recruiting for a Wellbeing Coordinator to work in HMP Lowdham Nottingham.
WELLBEING COORDINATOR KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
  • To assist in the delivery of health and wellbeing and menopause support activities for older women in the criminal justice system; providing high quality, innovative, holistic, gender responsive support, advice and intervention to ensure the needs of women who are experiencing multiple and complex disadvantages are met.
  • In this role, you will also be expected to work closely with a range of Criminal Justice stakeholders especially Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), Probation and Local Authority partners.
  • Provide person-centred and strength-based activities that reflect the rights, preferences and choices of individuals creating an environment that is trauma informed, safe, healthy and maintains the individual’s dignity and well-being.
  • Communicate a positive work ethic and team working culture encouraging co-design and co delivery methods whilst providing excellent customer care and service delivery standards.
  • Support referrals into and on from the service with colleagues, volunteers, peer mentors as appropriate, ensuring standards are maintained and women receive the most appropriate support.
  • To identify and source community appropriate agencies and guest speakers to provide information and support for the women and in relation to their presenting needs.
  • Work with Regional Managers to ensure the collaborative development of services, effective team working, mutual respect and support to colleagues.
 PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a custodial environment or have worked in a training or social care setting, have strong communication and motivational skills and an understanding of the kinds of issues faced by older individuals and/or offenders.
  • Service Manager role will require experience of managing and leading a team.
  • Full current driving license and access to a car is desirable.
  • The successful applicant will be subject to DBS checks/disclosure and Prison Security vetting.
