  • We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager to work with a leading charity specialising in the delivery of knowledge and expertise to older people who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The charity has been pioneering new, effective ways to support older offenders and ex-offenders and are currently recruiting for a Service Manager / Buddy Lead to work in HMP Lowdham Nottingham.
  • To manage a Team within HMP Lowdham Grange and to co-ordinate the training, supervision and management of the Buddy Support Worker programme.
  • The post is dual in function, the role of Service Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Team at HMP Lowdham Grange in addition to managing the delivery of our Buddy Programme, which trains prisoners, to National Care Standards adapted for use in prison, to support other prisoners with Health & Social care needs.
  • Works with: Managers, Co-ordinators, Older Prisoners, Prison and Probation Staff, Healthcare providers and other agencies within the prison. Also with: HMPPS (His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service), Ministry of Justice, housing providers, local authorities and other third sector organisations.
  ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:  Leading and Managing:
  • Supports direct reports in developing a positive culture within Recoop and across the cluster.
  • Sets a clear vision, based on Recoop business and development plans
  • Communicates business and contract imperatives appropriately and in a timely way.
  • Builds and maintains a dynamic, stretching and energised Team
Service Delivery and Support:
  • Ensure positive health and wellbeing.
  • Provide person-centered activities that reflect individual rights and preferences.
  • Maintain meticulous records and share data responsibly.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Engage with the wider Recoop team, other prison departments and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive work ethic and team culture.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and continuous professional development.
Strategic and Technical Contributions:
  • Contribute to innovative service development.
  • Advocate for Recoop service growth and business development.
  • Provide regular progress reports and maintain knowledge of relevant policies.
Management and Compliance:
  • Collect monitoring information and deliver reports.
  • Adhere to safety and risk requirements.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met.
