Robert Walters is pleased to be working with a leading East Midlands law firm to recruit a skilled and motivated Court of Protection Solicitor (1+PQE) for a key role within their highly regarded Nottingham team.

About the Team

The Court of Protection team is one of the largest and most respected in the region.

This dynamic team manages a wide variety of cases, including acquired brain injuries, personal injury, clinical negligence, and clients with mental health issues, learning difficulties, or elderly clients with dementia. Their work provides a vital lifeline to those in need, combining legal expertise with a compassionate approach.

About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team and manage a varied caseload, working alongside senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters. Comprehensive training and development are provided to ensure career progression in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing professional and lay deputyship cases, from application to administration.
  • Handling a mix of elderly client and catastrophic injury matters.
  • Preparing statutory wills, gift applications, and family care payment applications.
  • Overseeing property transactions and adaptations for client needs.
  • Preparing annual OPG accounts and managing financial budgets.
  • Demonstrating a sound understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and OPG deputy standards.
About You

The firm are looking for a self-starting, client-focused solicitor with:

  • 1+ years PQE, with experience in Court of Protection or Private Client matters.
  • Strong commercial acumen and client relationship skills.
  • Proven financial management and case management expertise.
  • Proficiency with IT systems, including case management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to team values.
