Title: Category ManagerLocation: NottinghamSalary: up to £50,000Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are partnering exclusively with a key client based in Nottingham as they look to recruit the newly created role of Category Manager (Indirect). The Category Manager will be responsible for maximising efficiency and contributing to business results while taking ownership for the procurement of goods & services for the business by identifying cost saving opportunities across a range of categories. Duties & Responsibilities of the Category Manager will include:
- Stakeholder management across the business, project co-ordination, working cross-functionally, setting and delivering on agreed timescales
- Develop, implement, and refresh category plans which examine the marketplace and identify savings
- Tender, evaluation and negotiation of long-term supply contracts complete with terms and conditions
- Monitor and improve supplier delivery, quality and cost performance
- Launch price enquiries with suppliers against new bids and evaluate/negotiate offers
- Lead the supplier qualification process for new and existing sources of supply against allocated Indirect Categories
Key Skills & Experience:
- 3-5 years Indirect procurement experience
- Experienced in project management / stakeholder management
- Proven track record of cost savings and improvement to service level
- Experienced negotiator / experienced in supplier relationship management
- Understanding of basic engineering (desirable)
- CIPS Qualified (desirable)
