I am currently working with a well-established engineering organisation who are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join the team! This position will sit in the purchasing department located at their Kirkby in Ashfield site offering a salary from £50,000-£55,000.

Candidates will need to have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a construction or manufacturing environment at a buyer or senior buyer level.

Role responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Officer include:

  • Analysing category spend across all division and develop tenders and specifications
  • Negotiating contracts, improving prices and terms of business with suppliers and reviewing opportunities to make business savings
  • Assessing and evaluating suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Providing analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
  • Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships and keep up good communications
  • Preparing agreements and contracts.

Role Specification of the Senior Procurement Office include:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing/construction environment
  • Knowledge of purchasing, negotiations, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
  • Experience working closely with suppliers
  • A valid UK driving licence

Salary

Up to £55k

This role offers hybrid working, Monday-Thursday in office, Friday working from home
