The Company

Our client is a leading provider of mechanical engineering services in the area, supplying, designing an installing Bespoke Heavy Manufacturing Equipment, Largescale Industrial Machinery and Special Purpose Machinery.

Established in the area, they have built a strong reputation for delivering quality service to their clients.

Their team designs and fabricates a variety of products and pride themselves in a providing a high standard of craftsmanship and innovation.

As a business they are experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects, as such they are looking to make changes to their project team to ensure consistent quality cover and support to all clients.

With these changes in mind across the Service & Project department, to allow for more structure and organisation, a Project Installation Manager is now required. 

The Role

The role of Project Installation Manager will be to act as a steer and support for the Service department, taking on ownership of projects after manufacturing up to installation and commissioning.  The successful Project Installation Manager will be directly responsible for 2 Service Engineers, always ensuring sufficient resources for clients.

Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, responsibilities will include;

  • Scheduling Site Survey Engineers
  • Booking in installations
  • Advise clients if and when servicing of products are now required
  • Upselling new projects
  • Allocating resources
  • Method statements and risk assessments
  • Be point of contact for the client
  • Make sure Flights, hotels etc are booked for Engineers
  • Write up reports
  • Controlling the budget

The Person

To be successful in the role of Project Installation Manager you will:

  • Have a relevant mechanical qualification OR relevant mechanical industry experience
  • Project management – previous responsibility of delivering projects on time and in budget
  • Ability to travel internationally when required – up to 3 times per year
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Knowledge of installation processes and challenges
  • Excellent time management
  • Client facing skills – excellent communication
